Lego MOC: Spaceships

Assault Ship

Below are my larger-scale spaceship designs – that is, not fighters. They are nonetheless intended to be minifigure-scale compatible and swooshable. These designs are original. Even if they are inspired by or heavily based on an existing design, they are not intended to be replicas.

Assault Ship
This is a warship heavily based on the USS Sulaco as seen in Aliens (1986). The design has access panels for playability (even if said panels are not meant to be doors). It also utilizes modular design so each section can be separated.

The bow section consists of multiple sensor and communication arrays. It also houses 8 large missiles vertically and a turret.

The second section contains the bridge and bunk spaces. The ventral space houses 20 small missiles on each side. Given the form of the ship, I have to take advantage of vertical space. The third section contains the mess and bathroom. Like the aforementioned, the ventral space also houses 20 small missiles on each side. The platform above the bathroom leads to the aft section that contains engineering.

Space Freighter
This design was submitted to BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 (2023). It was not selected but thank you all for your support.

This Space Freighter at 1885 pieces is divided into 4 sections with modular design and access panels for playability:

  • The Freighter section (towing vehicle) is divided into Port, Central and Starboard modules. The Freighter features a bridge, bunkbed, food dispenser, computer terminal, med-bed, amongst other things.
  • The Trailer section is one module and features the connector to the Freighter, two mounts for the Towers and their corresponding locking mechanisms.
  • The Tower is comprised of a common Base module with the remaining to serve whatever purposes require. In this set, one Tower is a Refinery and the other is a generic Cargo Container.
  • Both the Freighter and Trailer have retractable landing gears.

Prototype Destroyer
This is mostly inspired by the warships seen in The Expanse with some influence from others including the Arcadia as seen in the anime film Harlock: Space Pirate (2013). The design has access panels for playability (even if said panels are not meant to be doors). It also utilizes modular design so each section can be separated.

The bow section includes three torpedo launchers and a large torpedo bay. I have not designed the loading mechanisms although there is enough space to manually push the torpedoes into the launcher. Also present are two missile bays just below the bridge that is on the upper deck.

The crew quarters and infirmary are amidships.

The aft/engineering section includes the drive, one weapons bay, one drone bay and four engine nacelles.

As one can see, in between the sections are two sets of cannons on rotating geared rings.
